Child’s arm, holding the eye’s vascular tissue. Bernardus Siegfried Albinus, the Netherlands, 1730.

Somehow adding part of the child’s garment makes it so beautiful and grotesque. It’s more art than medical specimen. This is the first time I’ve ever seen something like this done… I wonder what is the reason or story behind it.
